Jesus in Holland mural project

The mural is happening, the painting has begun! Thanks for checking out our mural page. We will continue to update here with new photos of the process and information about how you can particpate.
Murals are well known to boost community morale, and to significantly lift the mood of a neighborhood. This mural will be a beautiful nod to the culture and diversity of Holland. It will also speak to God’s blessing and presence over our city.  The rough conceptual rendering you see above shows the planned tulips, the hands of God releasing a fiery dove. We will also feature the Holland windmill and a diverse representation of Holland residents enjoying the outdoors…

One unique element of this eye-catching mural will be the “Selfie station” with Jesus. A bench will be present where people can “Sit with Jesus” and snap a photo.  Interactive murals that invite photography have gone viral in many places. We will promote a hashtag such as #SelfiewithJesus or #JesusInHolland. We will also place a QR code in or near the photo-op locations of the mural. The QR code will automatically send photographers to a website that invites  the public to further participate. Online they can  share their photos and even submit prayer requests. Our Church body will print the anonymous requests and allow people to personally pray for their community members’ needs.

We at the church are excited but the cost is significant at $19,200 We are looking for partners among the local businesses. We recognize this will benefit all of us. Painting is scheduled to begin August 7th. Please consider helping make this happen.

What do you get for Sponsoring?

    • The “Selfie station” with Jesus will have a QR code displayed on or by the park bench so community members will be brought to rlcholland.com/mural  where they can share their photos… submit prayer requests, and where they will see any Corporate sponsors clearly named and thanked.
    • Whenever media covers the mural we will include our sponsors in the press releases
    • For large donations a subtle Easter egg advertising within the mural might be an option such as possible placement of an ice cream cone, or coffee cup, or some subtle reference. Overt advertising is prohibited by city ordinance. But we already have the sign permit to send people to the  webpage.
    • Your participation would be completely tax deductible as a charitable donation.
    • The obvious bragging rights and marketing clout of participating in a beautification effort that will be prominent in our neighborhood for many years to come.
